Warning to ticket buyers:  I will not use Transferwise ever again.  I used it as we were told we would get a discount on the Gatecon tickets.  However, unlike Paypal, it was treated as a cash advance on my credit card.  I was not aware of this.  In addition to Transferwise's fee, I was charged a credit card fee and interest on the "cash advance".  No savings at all.

I used my bank card and wasn't charged anything extra by my bank when I used Transferwise.  (There was a $3 fee charged by Transferwise, but that was something I was aware of).  ATfan, I noticed that you're from Canada. I'm from the US, so maybe that could be the difference.

That happened to me also. My credit card treated it like a cash withdrawal and slugged me a $18 Aus fee plus the transferwise fee. I will have to think of another way to pay. 🤔

I've returned from my business trip. I'm ready for banquet ticket sales and learning the date of the film location tour(Richard mentioned it could possibly moved to Thursday Sept 13, 2018)

Neither of these have been announced yet. It'll go up somewhere very visible when it happens.

Hi Krisz,
It will really depend on whether we have already reached capacity by then selling full weekend tickets.

Thank you for the info Richard. This year didn't seem so busy at work as last year so I'll probably take the chance that it will be ok to take the Friday off at least and go for it and buy a ticket. I would find it hard to miss Gatecon if weekend tickets aren't available nearer the time. Good though for Gatecon, you have a full house!!!  :)

Ticket Payment Plan

A heads up and due to time slipping by we have to have a cut off for the 6 month payment plan so if you wish to make use of the 6 month plan you need to purchase in the next two weeks.

After that we can offer the 3 month plan until April after which we will only be able to accept full payments.

I won't be attending Gateson 2018 due relocation across the US. My gold ticket..row C..will be for sale along with the banquet ticket I recently purchased.

Unfortunately we are unable to allow the selling-on of tickets at this stage (as per the terms and conditions you agreed to when purchasing the ticket).

If we sell out of tickets we will then operate a transfer service.

From the T’s & C’s:
“You understand that tickets are non-transferable unless the event is sold out whereby we have no tickets left for sale, at which point we will allow the transfer or resale of tickets to persons on the waiting list should such a list exist at that time.”

Sorry Richard, you are wrong. Using Paypal Credit, I had six months to request a refund in the US. The deadline for me was March 12 and I notified GC before that.

Actually Richard is right. PayPal refunds are a completely different thing to Gatecon refunds and are NOT connected in any way. Their policy is likely to be different to ours and terms were agreed by everyone before being able to purchase any ticket

Is it when the show sells out, or when the level you purchased sells out, that a transfer for purchased tickets can take place?
Is there a good chance of selling out? I too will not be able to attend the event in September. I read the ticket purchase policy
and read it as the level selling out. Is that wishful thinking....  I am having difficulty finding that policy at this time - the computer
is winning.

Hi Erin,

Here’s the relevant section from the T’s and C’s:

“You understand that tickets are non-transferable unless the event is sold out whereby we have no tickets left for sale, at which point we will allow the transfer or resale of tickets to persons on the waiting list should such a list exist at that time.”
