Getting to Vancouver

(Not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but didn't know where else to put it. Please move to correct spot if applicable, admins.)

I was wondering, how are people getting to Vancouver and when?
I am planning on crossing Canada by train (flying into the East, then take The Canadian from Toronto to Jasper and the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver.
I'd leave Toronto around Aug 22nd, and arrive in Vancouver around Sept 1.

Anyone interested in joining me/meeting up somewhere if my schedule allows it? (I'm still booking, so no definite plans yet)

I am so jealous right now, your trip sounds like it is going to be FANTASTIC!!!!
My mum & myself are travelling from Scotland, catching a coach to London, flying non-stop to Vancouver and then travelling on to Chicago after the con...
According to my 'travel plan' it will take around 18 hours to get there...
Any of my friends meeting up with me better take me to Starbucks ASAP so that I can have some caffeine  ;D
Can't wait to meet peoples :)!

The train trip sounds like fun.  I've taken trains up and down the East Coast (US) and prefer them to planes.  Unfortunately I'm taking a plane to Vancouver since the train takes like three days and I don't have the time.  But I envy you the trip.

going across cananda via train wa salways been a dream of mine but no way can I combine it with the Homecoming not th emoney amount but the extra time away from my cats and the sitters availability.  Maybe one day--so now working on alternative means like flying to Seattle then the train up the coast to Va nCouver.
Becaue its not till September I have lots of time to organize travel.

What a great idea, if you're going to have a holiday why not make the most of it! A trip on the Rocky Mountaineer is on my bucket list! I just never seem to have the money to do it, even with the discounted trips they offer to BC residents! I can never have enough of the mountains, forests and lakes of BC, it's so beautiful, you'll be blown away by the sheer magnificence of some of those views on the trip through the Rockies. We've driven on some of the stretches near the railway and I've always wanted to see the view from that train. It goes into areas the road doesn't and gives a different perspective.

I'm in Seattle so it's just a quick 2 1/2 hour drive for me. I'll be coming up by myself in my 1990 Miata.

Quick Shuttle finally has opened up booking for Sept 2016. Anyone flying into Seattle airport can take the shuttle to Vancouver.

FINALLY got our travel arrangements booked!
We are now travelling from Glasgow via Heathrow to Vancouver as it was £1000 cheaper :o!
How does that even make sense? hmmm!
Well and truly cannot wait now, :)!

I am taking a train from Oklahoma to Texas then to Los Angeles ( 24 hr layover ) then to Washington.  Then a bus to Vancouver.  Time on train is 49 hours ( that does not include the 24 hr layover)  the bus is 6 hrs.  Its all worth it to me.

Gradually I am getting all my travel arrangements  and plans all set--just booked the local van service to the airport in Hartford ct and back home on the return.  Got confirmation from pet sitter for my threesome and have purchased a few new shirts- whew!!---
   Maybe I'm getting old but can someone summarize the procedure of purchasing auto& photo opps in advance. 

I hope that the summer flies by and September comes soon-It's been just over a year since I've gotten away so can't wai to go !!!

I believe there is a section that explains the autos and photos.  Right at this moment I can't tell you where.  It's 2am and I really should be asleep.  I'll find which section it's in and let you know.
