My Stargate cosplay was purchased from someone, I only made a small portion of it (which is the P90 holster, which I won't even need since I can't bring the P90), should I enter the costume contest? Are we looking for who looks the best or who has costume making skills? I have a low amount of skills, so I don't want to enter if that's what everyone will be judged on!

Good question!

Do we get our photo-op photos signed free? I've gotten most of their autographs so many times I don't need any more but there's a few I have never met and will want just a photo and then to have it signed. Otherwise I won't be getting tons of autographs. I know one thing that makes the autographs take forever is that the guests get to talking to you and you don't want  to leave. I know you guys pretty much let the guests do what they want but will there be limits on stuff like taking selfies with them at the tables? Just wondering, I'm sure people might want to know. That's all.

I believe it will not be permitted to take selfies at the autograph sessions. Can you imagine the time it will take to get everyone through? Besides that's what the photosession is for. :)

If I can convince her of the fun of volunteering, is there a chance we could be put together to work? That way, she would at least start off hanging with someone she knows and will feel more comfortable and less out of her element.

I'm certain that by the end of the weekend, she'll have a ton new friends though. ;)

I'm betting it won't take all weekend for her to find a bunch of new friends! ;D

Think if it this volunteering you will get to meet a small group of volunteers first. Then the other attendees through volunteering. It's fun. And yes make sure you are together.

Unfortunately I tend to fall into the wrong - or maybe right depending on how you look at it - person. Went to a Buffy/Angel convention one time and lost track of the number of times I nearly tripped into Christian Kane!
And I once ran Misha Collins over with my wheelchair at a Supernatural convention

See, told ya it works :P

Hi I'm Nelleke but most call me Nell.  I'm a Dutchie (from the Netherlands not Germany although I do speak German)
I've attended most Gatecons, have volunteered at all to them as one of Robbins Jaffa and hope to do this again. It's always great fun to do.

I am currently rewatching SG as one of my passions is making costumes. And I'm looking for an interessting costume to make for next year. Will be hard, if not imposible as I've done my most favorite costumes already.

Anyway, SSOOOOOOO looking forward to this. It's been to long since I went to (any) convention and I miss it!
