Sheraton Location, Room Rates & Reservations

What is the Gatecon room rate? I'm getting $239CAD coming up but Sugarshaker ^^ above is at $199... I'm so confused with exchange rates and the such lol!

Try calling the hotel directly at 800-663-0299 and tell them you want to make a reservation for the Gatecon convention next September.  I think the Gatecon block is sold out right now, but Richard said they were going to try to negotiate some more rooms.

Yes, give them a call to find out if the number of people in the room is correct. The $239CAD is for 4 people in the room.

I noticed that the more people you have in your room, the cost of the room goes up. So if you want the 2Q beds and put 2 people it'll quote you $199 but if you want that same room and put 4 people it'll quote you the $239 price. I think I'm remembering that correctly

Yeah that is what they said on the phone. As I have booked for 4 people it is $11CAD PP...
Better find me a fourth roomie then lol!

Wow, I did a check and it would cost me just under $1000 to stay at the hotel over the course of the convention. I'm kinda debating whether or not I should go ahead and reserve a room, or just commute each morning and put that money towards autographs and photo ops.

Hotel bedroom update!

We have managed to get an additional 20 rooms into the peak night block. Once those have been taken the hotel will look at opening up small blocks at both the adjacent Hilton & Marriott so attendees can choose one of them. The hotel will keep an eye on things and advise us if that needs to happen.

If you intend to book a room at the Sheraton it might be an idea to grab it fast as we expect this latest block to go quickly.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading another Gater post about less expensive lodging options that were close to the Con hotel but idk if she posted prices. For the most part, I think it'll be around that price as it is the airport and they are usually high. But check out Priceline.com or Expedia.com or kayak.com and see what else you can find! Or post in the forum that you're looking for roomies to join in with.

If they are able to offer us a block of rooms at the adjacent hotels they will be at a similar or same rate as the rooms at the Sheraton

Wow, great service! I had booked online, but we decided to extend our stay and I contacted them by e-mail. They replied very quickly and changed the reservation

... and in the new confirmation I found this: "The following requests have been attached to your reservation: COMP INTERNET" Does that mean you have agreed a free company internet rate with the hotel during the convention? That would be awsome!

I checked to see if there are any available rooms through the group booking link. I'm awaiting an email response from the Sheraton.
