HI, I'm sorry, I come back about the subject "autographs at the guest's table".

Do you have a new information about the possibility to pre-order?

I think there are around 2000 people who come at Gatecon.
I think there are around 2000 people who want RDA's autograph...
How could he sign all ?? :-[

I remember London last summer, I came the Sunday, RDA has been able to sign only about 300 autographs that day. I had the number 404, so no autograph.   :'(
What about 2000 people awaiting ?

Thank you

Hi... We don't have anywhere near 2000 people coming! the hotel wouldn't be able to cope with that number. Autographs are not pre-sold as the money goes direct to the actor. It all happens at the con. Hope this helps!

Here's a question I haven't seen asked anywhere...
If you want to meet an actor, but you don't necessarily want an autograph or photo op, is it possible to wait in the autograph line just to say hi and shake their hand? I've been able to do this at every other convention I've gone to, I just wanted to be sure I understood how it works at Gatecon. Thanks!

It is something we could allow towards the end of the session if time allows, but as the autograph session is when the guests are earning we would have to give priority to those making purchases.

Hey guys, I have a question. I know autographs will take place on Sunday, but do we know around what time they will start? I only ask because I have a 2:30 p.m. whale watch tour, but I'd still like to get an autograph from RDA if possible. Thanks, Tabitha

The autograph sessions usually start shortly after the closing ceremonies.  ('shortly' being a relative term with no true definition until things happen *g*)

Hi there, just to clarify. I just bought my four photo ops. Am I reading this correctly? For my husband to stand with me in the photo that we only need one copy of- he has to pay for the photos too? (i.e., so if we only need one copy, do we still have to pay for two?)

Also, no pre-orders for autographs, right?  ;D

That's the correct the charge is per person rather than per print

Correct - no pre-orders for autographs.  Those are paid for on-site.  (preference is probably cash)

I can't make it and sold my ticket a while back. But I just saw this online - this really sucks for you guys

(see here: http://rdanderson.com/updates/updates.htm#20160901gatecon ):

Quote
Well folks, there's no avoiding the issue anymore: as most of you may know by now I recently performed a head plant onto a cement surface, sustaining a concussion, broken rib, sprained left wrist, and an oddly broken right elbow. Right now, and for at least the next 12 weeks, I will be in a splint on my right arm to completely limit any rotation or peripheral movement of the arm. The obvious problem this causes, is that I will be unable to sign any autographs with my right hand.

Paul Brown and myself have been commiserating to try and solve this dilemma. To be perfectly honest with all of you nothing seems to satisfy as a solution.... as yet. This whole situation is distressing, and truly saddens me greatly. Paul and I will continue to work on ideas to satisfy my autograph promises, but for now I won't be able to sign any autographs, which I know is important to so many of my incredibly loyal fans and friends.

I want to assure everyone that I will BE there, in Vancouver. My injuries are proving to be slow to heal, and I am still dealing with a fair amount of discomfort, but nothing is going to keep me away from our Homecoming. I will be there for some gentle hugs, and as many pictures as we can all endure.

I felt it only fair to announce the situation so everybody knows upfront what's happening. Thanks for understanding, and I hope you all still attend. Personally, I'm determined that the Homecoming will be a fun event....after all, 'fun' IS my middle name.

Love to all,

Rick

No, to me this doesn't suck.  What would really suck is if RDA wasn't able to attend at all.  According to Richard, RDA and Paul Brown may have come up with something to resolve the problem.  We'll just have to wait and see.

It certainly does suck that he was injured and will be in pain. I respect his determination to honour his commitment to appear at the con, even though I doubt any of us would fault him for pulling out under the circumstances. I had not been keeping up so I was unaware of his recent injuries or the extent of the damage. I can certainly put my selfish desire for an autograph aside and hope he makes a full recovery.

Sad to only just realized won't be likely to get an autograph from RDA but I hope next GateCon it would be possible. I'm still deciding on which autographs to get since I didn't preorder. Maybe just op for a RDA photo instead. I'm glad he'll at least be at the con. See you all on Friday since I won't be there until Thurs evening.
