Question: If I go to an actors table and don't like the photos they have there, I would have to go back to the Legends Photo Booth to get one and then return to the actor? If the actors table is very busy, do I have an opportunity to check out their pics before lining up? I remember at Creation's actors tables, it was very hard to see the photos until you were right in front of the actor and I don't want to be rude and push people aside in order to see something.

A bit late, but: Happy New Year to all of you!

I read about the Homecoming shortly after we had returned from our very first travel to Canada last September ... and was sad because I thought it would not be possible to go back to Vancouver the very next year (it's a long and not cheap trip from Germany). But my husband agreed to go again although he will not attend the convention. We'll cruise to Alaska and then stay for a week in Van, so that I can attend the convention. Soooo happy ... and grateful to my husband!

The days before the convention we now can do what we couldn't make last year, especially a trip to Vancouver Island and maybe whale watching. Does anyone know where is the best place to start/book this trip (near the Sheraton)?

Just one more thing, if you haven't done the Alaska cruise in September: it might be warm-ish in Vancouver but bring your winter jackets, gloves and hats. It gets very cold on the ship!!!

Hi SamC,

Welcome to the forum. I'm from Germany too, but have been living in Canada for a few years now.

If you want to do whale watching from Vancouver, Google whale watching Vancouver and it should give you a few options. I think most of those tours are day trips, because it takes a a while just to get out there. You'll probably have to go downtown though to catch a ship.

You can travel to Vancouver Island by plane or ferry/bus. I did the ferry/bus on a September weekend once and unfortunately the bus trip wasn't the best. bus was packed!!! It is cheaper than flying though, unless you get a good rate with Westjet or Air Canada. (or you could take a sea plane)

I did the Alaska cruise a few years ago (also in September) and i really enjoyed it. I'm planning on doing it again this year, but have nothing booked yet.

Listen to me going on and on. That was the travel agent in me talking :)

Would love to meet you and everybody else of course. I will be in seat O19.

Oh ok, sounds good!

Hi Fryn,

where does it say that wifi in the room is free? From what I know it is not (unless you're an SPG member with a high enough tier). It says that it is available, but maybe I missed something. There's so much info :)

The hotel website says there is complimentary wifi in all public areas of the hotel and if you are an SPG member you might get free wifi in your room (I believe that depends on your level though). So unless you want to be out and about in Vancouver a lot and think you might need wifi there, it's probably not worth getting. However, remember that there will be a lot of people, if all of them use the free wifi at the same time, it can get real slow. I know I use wifi a lot, but every time I travel to the US for a convention I usually see what I want to do in advance (like sightseeing) and get all the info so I can take that with me and I usually don't get a phone plan for abroad. My opinion only, it really depends on your needs.

FYI I also only received 2 out of 3 confirmation emails. Check your spam folder if you haven't yet. that's where my third confirmation was

I know you put a limit on the people who can attend, but if someone can't make it, can you put my name on the list? I'll be coming by myself and I only know one person for sure on your list (shipcat, not sure if you remember me though, it's been a while).
