Here’s the info for the cosume comp...
We will be holding the costume contest as enough people expressed an interest. Plus we have the themed banquet so you can always enter that outfit in the contest or anything influenced from across the Stargate franchise.
The judging will take place on the Saturday evening just before the charity auction kicks off.
You can register your entry when you collect your ticket at the registration desk on convention Thursday, or save time and email us gatecon.events@googlemail.com with your details - name and a brief description of the costume. Please note costumes need to abide by our weapons policy:
Any weapon, real or not, that contains a blade is NOT permitted in any convention area. Real weapons or replicas of real weapons are not permitted in any area. Replicas of other weapons used in the Stargate franchise may be allowed for costume purposes provided they have first been cleared at the registration desk or with our security staff. Failure to do this may result in the item/s being confiscated and made available for collection at the end of the convention.

If you miss the main registration period we will have unclaimed tickets to hand at the Meet and Greet, which is the informal gathering for attendees to mingle and meet and is usually attended by some of the guests.

The guests will have headshots available at their table and payment goes straight to them...with the exception of JR whose headshots will be available at the Gatecon table

The rumour mills have started.....
Whatever is coming, Christopher Judge will be a part of it. He's recently worked as a sort of Stargate "ambassador", appearing at MGM's Stargate panels and Stargate Command's cast interviews. At MCM Comic Con he confirmed that "something is coming for Stargate" and that we will play a part in it, even going so far as to say he wouldn't mind only working on Stargate and God of War in the future. His success with God of War may have been an unexpected gift for Stargate's future, seeing as his name on a Stargate project would be worth a whole lot more today than just a couple of years ago. This makes it easier for MGM to decide to keep the current canon, with Chris Judge (a now more well-known name), as Teal'c, an in-canon character.
- The announcement will be made during Gatecon. It's been speculated that the announcement was originally to be made during San Diego Comic Con, but MGM only indicated that wheels are turning. Making the announcement at Comic Con would have made more sense than Gatecon, as the announcement would have had a greater reach and probably a bigger chance of going viral. While making it at Gatecon would send a signal that MGM actually cares about the fanbase, it also means they'll have to think of something clever to make sure whatever is coming will gather new consumers outside the existing fanbase. Stargate's fanbase right now just isn't large enough to carry a successful expensive science fiction show in 2018.
