I'm curious to see how much of a frenzy will occur at the opening bell to get the top tier before they're sold out. Fingers at the ready.

This will (hopefully) be my first GateCon and my first time visiting Canada so looking forward to the trip!
As it's my first GateCon, I'm not really sure of how everything works or the prices of tickets, etc. so any information would be appreciated
More details about the con will crop up as we move along. Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but keep your eyes peeled!

unrelated to the convention itself... can we make the forum header banner a touch smaller? it's huge and takes up 100% of the screen real-estate if you don't use max'd windows.

I'm Highlander II (H2 for short... no, really, I'll answer to any of these). I've been to most of the Gatecons - I've missed 4, 1 I didn't know about, 1 I didn't know about until about a month before it happened and the 2 in the UK. I've been to all the rest and volunteered at all but the 1st one. I play Ingress b/c it's awesome - and maybe this time I won't get a freakin' cold and I'll be able to go to Minoru Park and do a mission or two over there. =) (If you want an invite to the game, let me know and I'll send you one. XD)
I also spend a lot of time here on the forum answering questions when Richard's asleep. =)

I think post deletion is an admin/mod thing. Like, you have a few minutes after posting to be able to delete, but after that, a mod has to do it. (I *think*. Each forum software is a little different.)

Ok so I´m from Germany and my Sister and me thinking about to travel next Year to Vancouver (for the first Time) for joining the Gatecon (for the first Time). Actually if we will do this..this will be our first Convention ever. So my question right now is can I buy Tickets from Germany too?And if yes how...and when will the tickets be aviable to buy? And do I have to take a room in the same Hotel the con will be placed or can I take another Place to stay? Ok maybe thats just many stupid questions but I really really hope that someone has the mercy to answer me.
You will be able to buy tickets from Germany. They aren't on sale yet, so you haven't missed them. There hasn't been an announcement made for when they will be, so keep watching the forum here for updates.
You don't have to get a room at the convention hotel, but it is very convenient to do so. There are other hotels nearby that you can room in instead if you choose.

Did anyone play while they were at Gatecon? I hacked and smashed and claimed all the way to and from the harbour cruise, but I didn't get a chance to play much else the rest of the time b/c a) I was busy and b) by Monday I had a damned cold and walking was way too much work. =(
I was bummed. I'd planned to go to Minoru Park and do missions over there, but I didn't get to b/c just walking down to London Drug for cough drops wore me out.
I did get to do a mission at YVR though on the way back home. =)

I think they're still sorting out the dates, but, if they stick with typical Gatecon scheduling - it'll be in September, around the same time as this year.
This is totally wild guessing/ballparking. They could come back with something entirely different. =)
