Because of the low number of Platinum tickets available there is a  limit in place on the shopping cart. The maximum number of Platinum tickets that can be bought by one person in a single transaction is 2.  There is no limit on the number of transactions you can make but each would be limited to 2 Platinum tickets.

After selecting your tickets and entering the ticket holder details, the payment options are presented - at this point you have options to pay with Paypal,  Transferwise or within the US, electronic bank transfers (full payment or installments for either).  When you have made your selection and reviewed your order you then press the PAY NOW button - at this point your ticket is on hold  If you elect to pay by Paypal you will be directed to the Paypal site to make your payment.  If you want to pay by the other methods the tickets will be held for 14 days.

The tickets are reserved as they are ordered and then validated when they have been paid for so there is no advantage gained with the speed of payment.

Quick follow up, if someone purchases platinum tickets but does not make a payment in 14 days, the tickets get put up for sale again.  My question is, does everyone who already bought a ticket get moved up to a better seat or do the seats that person was assigned go back out for sale?

Sorry for so many questions we are just trying to figure out how we are going to have four people sit together if we can only buy two tickets at a time  :)

Is there any incentive to pay in full? The reason I ask is that 3 friends and I agreed to go Platinum together. We can pay the $599 via PayPal which means you'd get the money ($2,396) up front. But with a payment plan as an option, won't everyone want to go Platinum if they've got 6 months to pay off the ticket? Meaning those tickets are going to get snatched up fast.

And with there now being a limit on 2 platinum tickets per transaction, the four of us won't be seated together (as we have to make two separate transactions) and there's the possibility that two of us will miss out on platinum tickets altogether as they will be in high demand because of the payment plan option. And the whole point was for us to be able to sit together at the panels and banquet.

If payment for a Platinum isn't received within the 14 days and the ticket is available again then the rest of the Platinum ticket holders will be moved to fill that spot and the unpaid for ticket will be placed at the end of the assigned seats... if that makes sense!

It is a bit of a problem with them being limited but we have had to do the 2 per transaction so that we don't oversell. All I can suggest is two of you try to get them simultaneously. We know there will be some disappointed people and we can apologise in advance but the idea was to make the Platinums unique and available to all, hence the payment plan. There is a slight fee for PP payment plans. Btw we don't get the PP money right away as they keep half of it until after the event which is another reason for Transferwise! :D

PLATINUM TICKETS UPDATE

We have been reading all of your concerns regarding the very limited Platinum tickets and we are trying to come up with a way that gives everyone an equal chance of grabbing one of these popular tickets. Some of you have been asking about ordering more than 2 tickets at a time as we have capped each transaction  at 2 Platinums.

We have devised this way of selling the Platinums to avoid overselling on launch day and to avoid the disappointment of finding out your order stamp was too late for a ticket. We also realise that all of your group will want to sit together and so to ensure you are able to we have come up with the following...

If you intend to buy a Platinum ticket we need you to email us at platinum@gatecon.com, listing your name and the names of everyone in your group who wants a Platinum as well, along with their email addresses and exactly how you each intend to pay. We also need to know if one designated person is paying for all the tickets or if people in your group wish to pay separately. Please note, with Paypal you would have to buy ALL the tickets requested at one time on the same mode of payment (either all in full or all on the same payment plan) as Paypal is automated and beyond our control. Transferwise/bank transfer option for US citizens can be done manually, in which case there is room for manoeuvre as we have the ability to 'mix and match'!

Each registration of intent will be assigned a number and should we have more than the number of tickets we have available we will enlist the help of one of the actors to pick a series of numbers for the Platinum ticket recipients. That way we will be able to keep groups together and it would be a completely unbiased selection.

If you are one of the lucky ones we will email you to let you know on the Friday and you will see the option to buy your Platinum ticket when you log into your members area on the Gatecon site when ticket sales begin. We will advise anyone not so fortunate well in time for the opening of ticket sales next Saturday when you will then be able to buy another ticket type. You will be placed on a waiting list in case any of the 25 tickets aren't paid for and you will be the first to be offered the chance to upgrade.

IMPORTANT.  All people listed for Platinums (either single purchaser, group purchaser, or Platinum recipient) MUST have a 'My Gatecon' account.  So if you haven't already, get onto the site and sign up. Without this your ticket/s cannot be assigned to you. If you came to the 2016 event you will need to set up a new Member's Area account for The Invasion - your old one will no longer work.

Also important... Please only send ONE email per group as duplicate emails will confuse the situation. Note, this is NOT an actual ticket purchase and you will still need to access the members area using the special link we will provide.

The designated purchaser will be assigned the number of Platinum tickets slots and buy the tickets for the rest of the group. Should you prefer to pay individually then you will be assigned a single ticket. If you don't complete the purchase of your allocation within the given timeframe the remaining tickets will be offered to those on the Platinum waiting list. If no waiting list exists they will be available by application to the platinum@gatecon.com email address on a first come, first served basis. As with all ticket purchases, payment of any kind must be received in our bank account within 14 days. This does not mean you have 14 days to pay but that some payments methods can take that long to clear. In order to avoid disappointment you need to pay straight away.

Finally, only contact us regarding this if you fully intend buying a ticket as this isn't a registration of interest.

This opportunity will be open from NOW until 1200 GMT (mid-day) on Wednesday 23rd August when any untaken Platinum tickets will be made available on Saturday along with the other ticket types.

If we are placed on the waiting list for platinum ticket and then offered the opportunity to upgrade later on, will we receive a refund for the banquet ticket that we purchased with our gold ticket since the banquet is included with the platinum?
Thanks.

If you get the chance to upgrade you would need to pay the difference between the ticket you bought and the Platinum. If you also bought a banquet ticket that would be taken into account

Just wondering....If you're one of the lucky ones, how much time  do you have to put your order in after you receive the email?   And what happens if the first five numbers drawn all want to purchase five tickets?  Are the rest of us out of luck?

So bummed...ll😭

I'm #32, but they are going to be pulling random numbers so there is a chance of being able to get a platinum.  It all depends on how many tickets are "taken" when they get to your number.

If I'm interpreting this correctly let say they pull numbers 3, 20, 44, 9, 32, 17, 10, 13 etc.  If #3, 20 & 44 each get five tix, there would be ten left when it's your number.

If you get two tix there would be eight left when it's my turn. I'm just getting one, so we're down to seven for #17.

If #17, 10 and 13 buy the remaining tickets, everyone else will be put on a waiting list in case someone doesn't pay or make payment arrangements within the 14 day allotted time period

(Don't quote me on this, this is just my interpretation of what they posted)

It looks like I will, unfortunately, not be able to attend the 2018 convention, especially after looking over the ticket options. The prices are actually comparable (only slightly cheaper) to that of a typical Creation convention yet they don't give you an assigned seat within the block and, unlike Creation, photo ops are now tied to which ticket tier you have? Yeah, I understand there is a big difference between what Creation can afford and what Gatecon can afford, but as a consumer there's only so much I can afford and spending essentially the same as a Creation ticket and getting what is comparably a glorified general admission ticket with added restrictions does not seem like the value received matches the money paid.

I would only be ready to commit to a ticket if Richard Dean Anderson was confirmed to make a return appearance but, if I'm understanding the new setup properly, if it turned out I was only able to get the Copper tickets (which is the actually more expensive than Creation's Copper ticket) I would essentially be lucky to get into a photo op because I would have to wait for everybody else with a higher tier? I can understand Platinum getting priority access, but I really think having to go in order of ticket tier is a recipe for disaster, especially since at the Homecoming it tried to order the photo ops by rows and gave up several hours in.

I'm also not too keen on the payment system, it just seems like jumping through too many hoops to get a ticket. But I wish everybody the best and hope everybody has an incredible time.

:( Wish you could come! I'm not to keen on open seating... not trying to complain, it's completely a personality thing...  movie theaters set in the same fear in me. I'm pretty quiet and get nervous in front of large crowds.... (Although you'd never guess it if you met me prolly  ;D) But it's enough to jump start my heart and make me feel like I'm having a *not so minor* heart attack. I'm getting better, but a little nervous about open seating due to this.... I definitely like the thought of having a seat with my butt labeled in it  ;D

Creation I think did the same thing with their ticket tiers- although to be honest it worked very well with photo ops. HOWEVER, I only was able to attend one creation event... so I can't speak volumes.

Overall, I'm down to meeting all of our fellow gate-goers and having a blast celebrating the show we all love so dear!!! <3 AND omg! Amanda Tapping! But, JR BOURNE?!?! Here's PRAYING he doesn't cancel out at last second. I was heartbroken when both of them cancelled last year!!!

We think alike. RDA will not be there. It was announced on the Gatecon FB page. For the platinum tickets, it only takes 12 people requesting 2 seats and that takes up the front row. The time zones are problems for US attendees. I noticed that many people were able to send in emails before the West Coast was awake. Back in the day, I almost volunteered for Creation events until I saw some unnerving behind the scenes stuff. Hope you do change your mind.

This is true for US attendees, but I see most of their posts immediately because I changed my notification settings on my page. This way I'm notified immediately of any changes :). For platinum they're randomizing it so that everyone, no matter how early or late you send your email in, is able to have the same chances.... the only bugger part for me is that I work 4-10's and it just so happens to fall right in the middle of ticket sales. I also work at the airport. OF all things, we have a terminal named STARGATE. No joke. But anyways- will make it nearly impossible for me to grab tickets unless I run away for a little bit. Or enlist the help of my accomplice.  8)
