I guess my phone doesn't work well with this site. Anyway, I can add a ticket but there is a great area at the bottom of the screen that says something like...

The only thing I can say is that depending on your phone you can manually request a desktop mode vs. a mobile mode which is what you're in. It didn't work on my phone, and I was helping someone earlier that had the same issue. Hopefully it works for you!

I have a question for someone who's knowledgeable about Transferwise. This is for a friend. Is it possible to cancel a completed Transferwise transaction for a Gatecon ticket and then start over?

Just curious, how long until our tickets aren't "pending" anymore?

I believe it's 14 days

My understanding was they were giving you 14 days for your payment to reach them but your tickets should not be pending once they receive your payment.  If you use PayPal they should receive the payment almost instantly so just curious why 5 hours later the tickets still say pending.  I want to make sure they got my payment and nothing got screwed up.

I wonder if maybe they aren't manually confirmed by the team onto our GC accounts. Once they check their PayPal and do see that the funds have been transfered, no? I'd give them a couple more days to sift through that, and if by the end of the week there still isn't any news, then drop them a word ? It's bound to be busy for a wee bit. Anyway, that's what I'd do,  :D

Sovereign hit the nail on the head, or the Goa'uld on the symbiote.

We are manually entering all the orders onto the ticket list and reconciling each with the payment - as we have offered multiple payment options this year that will slow things down a bit.

Don't worry though if I have any orders here but no matching payment I will let you know right away.

Once all that is done I can start marking your Member's Area as complete rather than pending. Then after that the confirmations with Row Assignments will start going out row by row once all payments have been received for that row.

It's pointless sending your row assignment out to you until the whole row has paid as we will be moving everyone along if any seats are unpaid after 14 days.

So yes, bear with us but that doesn't mean to say don't ask questions if you have concerns. We may not have a "helpline" as someone put it but we do out best to answer you as quickly as possible on here or the Facebook page.

I don't understand the purpose of having row assignment. My friends and I will still need to line up early so that we can all sit together. If there are 4 of us in our group and we are the last ones in our row to arrive into the room, there could be 3 seats empty on the left hand side of our assigned row and 1 seat empty on the right hand side of our assigned row. Therefore we are not sitting together. So attendees will still need to line up early for panels regardless of whether there is an assigned row or not just to ensure your group is siting together. You could save yourself the extra work and make it unassigned seating within the Gold / Silver / Copper tiers because there really is nothing that attendees gain by being assigned a row. Or am I missing something? Asking respectfully, because I can't wrap my head around it.

Honestly, the only reason my friends and I wanted Platinum was because of the assigned seating. So we wouldn't have to line up early to get a seat together. I understand you don't want to do assigned seating in the other tiers because you'd have to put stickers on all the chairs everyday because of the room layout changes. But couldn't you put a letter/number at the end of each row (which I assume you have to do anyway) and then people could just count the numbers of chairs from the end to find their numbered seat? And then everyone will know where their seat is for the rest of the weekend because it will be the same.

So you will be assigned a row and not a seat, giving you the freedom to choose a seat within that row. Platinum ticket holders will have assigned seats as before. Your row will be assigned in the order your ticket is reserved rather than when payment has been made.

If we want to sit together (in the same row), that means our tickets will need to be ordered together, right?

If so, is there a limit on how many tickets can be purchased in one transaction? Can one person buy 4 x GOLD tickets in one transaction for themselves and 3 friends?

And with the banquet tickets, in the one transaction can the person order 4 convention tickets and 4 banquet tickets? Or do you have to purchase banquet tickets separately to the con tickets?

Sorry for all the questions. We just want to make sure the person who is purchasing on our behalf knows what they need to do.

The last Gatecon was my first.  I liked the one price for all and the assigned seating.  Have to say I am not a fan of the different price tiers and definitely not of the non-assigned seating.  Do I really want to spend my spare time lining up?  No, therefore I opted for the cheapest ticket and will just sit wherever in that section.  If I had a guaranteed seat in one section I would have been willing to pay more.  I get that it is work to mark the seats but isn't that why you recruit volunteers?  I have done that as a volunteer at other events.

Also disappointed to learn after the fact that you are now assigning rows.  My friends haven't bought their tickets yet and it wasn't a big deal for us to sit together since everything was unassigned according to the ticket information.  This thread is the first I have learned of assigning rows.  So now we won't be able to sit together because they will be assigned a different row.

Have to admit to not being a happy customer.

Well, I'm happy. Got my silver ticket via computer (since I couldn't do it yesterday on my phone). Vancouver - here I come!!!

Manually matching ticket orders to payment is a tedious and time consuming task.  Not one that I envy you Richard, Ian, Fryn, Stef, and Allan, Good job keeping the computers humming...  As always, you all are knocking yourselves out for us, and you don't hear often enough, how much we appreciate your efforts.  No matter how much or what you do on our behalf, there will always be some who are disappointed or unhappy, but the majority of us are just pleased to be able to attend, and see old friends, or make new ones.  Thank you guys for organizing this for us.

You will be sent a confirmation by email later on with all the details on. Actual physical tickets/badges to be collected at registration at the event

Of course as you are in the copper tier if we don't sell out of tickets there you will all be able to move to four empty seats within that block. If your friends make their purchases soon they will be assigned the same row as you.

I think my iMac is on its' last legs Marcia. The years of Gatecon work are finally catching up to it. A nice shiny new one wouldn't go amiss, but the bank says no!

I'm sure you did announce it somewhere.  Unfortunately the information was not under "ticket information" which is where I looked before booking.

I am just trying to provide feedback, which I am sure you want as a business.  After last event, I was sent an email asking about my interest in another event so that indicated to me you do care what attendee's think.

I do appreciate your further comment above.

From my perspective, I preferred the system of ticketing from last event.  Others may love the new system.  Ultimately, you will decide going forward what system most people prefer or what is necessary for your business model.  Each attendee will then decide if that is a system they will go with or not.
