The con-rate block is now full Audrey but contact the hotel and see if they have any rooms available either at the Sheraton or the Hilton next door - they may be at the regular rate now though.

I've sent an email to Cecelia at the Hilton inquiring about available Gatecon rooms.  I haven't received a response yet. I hope she's still working there.

I sent her an email on August 20th. Got an out-of-office reply that she was away until Aug 28th. Still haven't received a reply from her. Sent another email today.

I contacted a few of the nearby hotels and have been informed by two of them, that rooms for September 2018 have not been released yet. I imagine this to be the case with others as well. The Airport Plaza releases their rooms for booking 11 months ahead of time, which means October. I stayed there in 2016 and can recommend it. (It's a little pricy, so get a group together) 😄

Ok, this is what I found out about the Gatecon room block at the Hilton Vancouver Airport.

I had to call to find out information since emails aren't answered. Thank goodness I can call Canada on my cell phone without being charged.

There are 15 rooms set aside for Gatecon attendees. I got the 15th room on the list. Don't fret. In another week or so, sales/reservations will call/notify the people on the list to verify if they want the room and get payment information. The computer system won't allow early entries. This could be why Cecelia hasn't responded, but she still works there.

I'll be staying at the Sheraton for now, so the Hilton is out. No contact from the Hilton since it's already open for regular booking in Sept 2018 including today's date.

I've received an email from the Hilton stating I have to guarantee with a debit/credit card by Oct 6 or I lose the room. I'm staying with another person at another hotel. I'll release the Sheraton room as soon as I hear that the other room has been confirmed.

Hi I am looking to attend GateCon for the first time and I see that the block for the Sheraton is booked and the regular pricing is way out of my price range (coming up over $2,000!). Do you have any recommendations for hotels near by?

The Executive Plaza Hotel next door to the Sheraton may still have some rooms. I just cancelled my reservation from that hotel, and I'm staying at a Best Western in Burnaby from Sept 12-18.

Thanks! I previously checked out the Best Western in Burnaby as it was recommended by a friend but I'm not sure how to use the sky train.
