Have you considered bringing gatecon to Chicago? We've had a stargate con here for years, but last year was the last one, they are pushing their supernatural and star trek cons.  :( there is already a established fan base here.. always big crowd.. just a thought.. :)

The main reason we choose Vancouver is because of the local actors and crew who tend to call in and also there is a whole host of filming locations for our ever-popular locations bus tour.

Who knows, though, further down the road?

I understand why you choose Vancouver, makes perfect sense and i wish i could go.  I am just saying if you ever wanted to move the con around, you should consider Chicago. Creation Entertainment left a huge hole that i think Gatecon could easily fill.  :)

I've just emailed US Immigration to see if we are able to visit the USA to run a convention and what visa would be needed.

That would be so great if you could expand your horizons.  There are so many US locations (not just Chicago) and venues to choose from.  I hope it works out.
