Also, thanks to our friends at Legends, we will be giving away this photograph, signed by Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks and Chris Judge, to one lucky person at the banquet

A winner will be picked at random on the night, and will be presented with the signed photo that normally retails for $195.00

*tickets drawn for the top table are for one person only, not for couples or groups. If you do not wish to be seated away from travel companions please let us know and we will redraw.

Plus, don't forget that one lucky attendee will be drawn at random during the closing ceremony to win the Stargate Legacy Coverstone Heirloom, valued at CAD$1750, courtesy of Legends

The Homecoming Vangroovy Banquet
Friday 9th September 2015

Question : When is a banquet not just a banquet?
Answer : When it is The Homecoming Vangroovy Banquet!

As you know, when it comes to The Homecoming nothing is ever boring. That includes the Vangroovy Banquet. We wanted to provide more than just a room and a meal. This needed to be an experience, an evening full of entertainment and memories that will stay with you long after the convention has ended.

The ticket price includes:

* Entry into a draw to win a seat at the Top Table with Richard Dean Anderson
* Three-course meal, comprising set starter & dessert with a choice of mains. Coffee included but all other drinks must be purchased at one of the Guest Bars
* After-dinner entertainment - improv comedy by Gary Jones and Ellie Harvie
* After-dinner entertainment from The Day Trippers, Vancouver's Beatles experience
* Specially commissioned limited edition solid brass SGC collectible (Note final design and material used may vary depending on availability). Exclusively available only to people attending the banquet
This is a Vangroovy event, therefore you are welcome to wear your 1960's outfits (although not obligatory!)

Seats for the banquet are strictly limited so be sure to grab yours now to avoid disappointment. Seating is unassigned for the banquet so you can choose to sit wherever you wish, unless any places are marked as reserved.

We anticipate that some of our other special guests will attend the banquet and they will be seated at random throughout the room - so you never know who you may end up sitting next to for dinner!

THE DAY TRIPPERS

Vancouver's very own Beatles experience, The Day Trippers will be joining us on Friday 9th September playing all the hit Beatles songs from 10pm until late, following on from Gary Jones improv comedy with special guest Ellie Harvie.

Testimonials :

"The Day Trippers were a huge success at our banquet, so thank you so much for that. We had great feedback from the delegates. I don’t think I have seen the dance floor so packed right up to  the end of the evening... and we all knew all the words to every song, and just kept singing!"

“Awesome night with The Day Trippers playing two full sets of The Beatles’ best. As authentic and Beatle-like as I have ever seen and heard, and I come from across the pond so have seen my fair share of British tribute bands! I would love these guys to have a homecoming gig back in Liverpool Merseyside!”
– Cecilia

“The Day Trippers got the crowd up and jiving to 60s rock n blues at the beautiful setting of Deep Cove this evening! Great nostalgia! Talented band with amazing harmonies, riffs and rhythms just like the original band!”

Brenda:
This was the best! I got some amazing candid pics with some of the guests who came and am still amazed how friendly and approachable many of the guests were. So different than other conventions where security keeps you at arms length from saying hello.

This is one of the reasons that I love Gatecon and never balk at volunteering my time to help keep it going.  It really feels like a family that you see once a year-ish.

Richard:
Just a leap year in this case :)
