A get-together sounds good.  I'm coming from South Carolina and plan on arriving the 7th so this works.  I'm definitely interested.

Since this message, my sister decided to come to the convention also.  So, if possible, I'd like to add her in too.

(She's never been to any kind of convention so this will be new to her.)

At least you seen that and not the 'death hoax' for him..
Honestly thought my friend was going to die cause of it :(!
What do people get out of hoaxing about others lives?! *sigh*
Hoping he gets better soon :(!

A 'death hoax'!!??!?!!?  I've never heard of such a thing.  (Obviously I don't spend a lot of time on the internet.)  Seriously, people start hoaxes about such things??

(This forum has been a learning experience.  First I learn about 'shippers', now this.)

When I signed up as a volunteer, I mentioned that I was a Registered Nurse.  I just want to point out that, as a trained professional, I am fully qualified to provide mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to any guests that might require...resuscitating.   ;) ;D

Yup, I just signed up too.  I've never been a volunteer at a convention but it sounds like fun.  I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Just got another ticket - this one for my sister.  I called her and mentioned that I was coming to this convention and she immediately decided she wanted to come too.  (I think the magic words were 'R****** D*** A*******)  ;D

Neither of us have ever been to Vancouver so this will definitely be fun.

Brilliant! Can't wait to see everyone...
I think RDA might have been everyone's magic words haha

Yeah I told a friend about it a few days ago and then spoke to her again this weekend and I think she and her b/f are getting tickets soon. For me personally it's a tie between Tapping and RDA.

Actually, Ms. Tapping is the autograph I most want to get.  My son really likes her ('because she's pretty *and* smart) but he can't come because he will be in Zambia (Peace Corps).  So this will be a surprise for him.

Hi Barbara!!! Welcome aboard!!!

I'm in Season 3 - and am really enjoying it.  A great show (I'm sure I'll get no argument about that.)

No argument there XD, but if you're a shipper brace yourself for season four and the following four... *goes back in her dark corner* XD

Uh-Oh.  What's a 'shipper'?????  Will I need to join you in the 'dark corner'????

(I actually read that first as 'stripper' - had me confused for a second.)

We might need a shipper welcome party for you my dear! Lol
And hahahahaha!
Stripper... Well...

Dark corners can be fun too....

I got an email with my ticket confirmation (YAAHHH!!!!!) and it said "please complete the Volunteer Form at the Gatecon site" if you're interested in volunteering.  Am I going blind??  I want to volunteer - sounds like fun.

Thanks.

(If someone points it out and it's right in front of me, I'll feel really stupid.  ;D

Yeah, me too.  Cool!!

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how many tickets are left??  Have enough been sold already so that the convention is definitely a go?  Gotta make my hotel reservations.

I'll be waiting for the form too.  Volunteering sounds like fun.  I'm a nurse so hopefully that will come in useful.

What a roller coaster this past hour has been.

I'm a nurse and work nights (7P-7A).  Since I worked last night and tonight, I couldn't stay up to get a ticket so my son promised me he would do it for me.  I impressed on him how important it was and he swore up-and-down that he would do it.

This afternoon, I woke up and saw a text message from him saying that he had been unable to get the ticket because it sold out.  He was so sweet - he felt terrible, he knew how much I wanted to go, etc. etc.

I was somewhat surprised at how deeply disappointed I felt.

So it's four hours after the tickets went on sale but I decided to check it myself.  (Had visions of trying to bribe someone in authority for a ticket. ;D)  And I saw the message that tickets were still available and managed to snag one.  Oh, happy, happy days!!!

Hello everyone.  My name is Barbara and I'll be coming from South Carolina for this (assuming I get a ticket).  I hate to admit this but, as of a month ago, I'd never seen Stargate.  :-[  (In my defense, I don't watch television so I've never seen most shows.)  Anyway, my son got me into Stargate - I'm in Season 3 - and am really enjoying it.  A great show (I'm sure I'll get no argument about that.)
