I love love volunteering at conventions, especially if it's a new convention to me cause then I get to meet more people. I always feel like I get more out of going to a con and volunteering than if I'm just attending. Volunteering I think you get to connect right from the get go and you have that core group that sticks with you throughout time!

Trying to get ahold of a friend of mine to let her know but she's out in no mans land right now. So glad tickets are still available but at the same time that would of been amazing/shocking if it had sold out that fast!

I am so all in (+1). What an awesome way to see filming locations PLUS be with awesome gaters (I really wish my iPhone would stop autocorrecting gaters to haters lol). Freakin out about tomorrow already. Anyone else?!?! 

No better way than to tour locations with others that will fully understand your "oh oh oh it's it's the place!!" and "I'm actually OMG here OMG" with all the hyperventilation, squees, and questions from others of "will you take me picture!"

I'm freakin out!!

Hello everyone.  My name is Barbara and I'll be coming from South Carolina for this (assuming I get a ticket).  I hate to admit this but, as of a month ago, I'd never seen Stargate.    (In my defense, I don't watch television so I've never seen most shows.)  Anyway, my son got me into Stargate - I'm in Season 3 - and am really enjoying it.  A great show (I'm sure I'll get no argument about that.)

Try calling the hotel directly at 800-663-0299 and tell them you want to make a reservation for the Gatecon convention next September.  I think the Gatecon block is sold out right now, but Richard said they were going to try to negotiate some more rooms.   

My room is reserved but still coming up at the $239 price..
I shall give them a call tomorrow to find out what the crack is...

I noticed that the more people you have in your room, the cost of the room goes up. So if you want the 2Q beds and put 2 people it'll quote you $199 but if you want that same room and put 4 people it'll quote you the $239 price. I think I'm remembering that correctly

I love that Gatecon is thinking of all the different types of funding availability for attendees! Not everyone can put things on credit cards or just pay it right away! This is much appreciated! Can't wait for the tour though!

Wow... I don't think I would even be able to fathom how much it would be for everyone! Lol. I have plenty of time to save up I suppose
But I'm also saving for AT9... I'm gonna be working my little butt off for the next few months!

I agree! It does all add up super fast!! But thank goodness we have time to save! Oh I soo wish I could got to AT9!!! I've not written it off my list completely yet but... Ugh it's SOO expensive!

Can't wait to volunteer! I've volunteered at almost every Con I've gone to except 2 and that was because they either A.) used and abused their volunteers B.) they only had 1 option for volunteering and that was ALL weekend ALL the time.

I usually go to anywhere between 7 and 10 Cons/Expos every year and always feel SUPER weird if I don't volunteer at them in some way or another.
