Gategoers at The Invasion / Re: Meet-a-Gater
« on: July 02, 2018, 05:50:00 PM »
Just gonna reintroduce myself I think. I almost went to Gatecon 2016, but life had a few emergencies to throw my way.

My name is Jenny and I’m from Washington State and absolutely love Vancouver, BC. I attended the last Stargate Convention that Creation did in Chicago and this past April attended AT10 in London having the time of my life. I’m definitely ready to be around fellow Gaters again!

Thanks for the update Richard! Great info, some of which I’d been recently thinking of so glad it was covered here in the update. Already filled out the volunteer form!

Hi everyone! I'm Jen, I'm 33 and I'm from Seattle. I didn't get into Stargate until about 6 years ago, but I've been obsessed with SG-1 ever since. I cosplay as O'Neill at every con I go to. This is my first Gatecon, but definitely not my first con! Just my first Stargate-centered one. I am so excited! I'll be driving up and staying at a hotel in Langley. Nice to meet everyone!!

Photos of my cosplay (are not great quality) can be found on tumblr at stargatecosplay

Hi Jen! It's nice to see another Seattle person on the forum!

I'm on o2 and have a data plan with them... but I can connect to stuff via WiFi...
Should I look into getting this at all...

I would look at it this way:
1.) How many days am I in Canada
2.) How much of my time will be spent outside of the hotel and away from WiFi
3.) Does one of my roommates or someone else at the Con have a phone that if I needed to borrow I could
4.) How reachable do you need to be from home and such, could you communicate enough by email

That's what I think about kinda when I go to a different Country

Itinerary & Activities / Re: The Vancouver Filming Location Bus Tour

Soo excited for this!!!! Question though, I don't see information regarding whether or not the bus is wheelchair accessible?? I want to guess that it is, as most charter buses are these days but wanna double check first as my best-friend uses a power wheelchair and it would be awesome to do this together as we can't do the cruise.

I just checked with them, and they are able to store collapsible chairs but cannot take chairs into the main cabin unfortunately.

Guess I'm not going cause my friend has a power chair and we can't leave it behind and she can't walk put the stairs. I also didn't email in time, oh well more money for photo and autographs!

However, depending on how many entries we get I may include a page of recipes in the convention magazine so you could still submit the one you mentioned.

That would be a cool addition I think!

The Homecoming 8th-12th September 2016 / Re: Tickets
« on: November 26, 2015, 02:53:14 AM »
Hi,

Was wondering if I could get an update on the number of tickets still available?

Trying to plan a trip across from Scotland but it may take a while for us to get the money together. If the tickets are 98% gone then we're probably out of luck.

Thanks

Hi,

You are going to be fine for a fair while yet. Once we get to within the last 50 we will post a heads up but at this stage there are plenty left

Thank goodness. I just found out about this like a half hour ago and I am so excited. I live in Seattle so it's just a short drive for me luckily, just need to get a hotel after I can get my ticket. So happy about this!

Fantastic.
Can you suggest anywhere in Seattle we could be advertising the event...ideally for free?

I'm also a Seattlite Richard and could maybe name a few places, where have you advertised in the past or where are you advertising now? Just so I can get an idea of what kind of places your looking for :)

I GO ON HOLIDAY AND COME BACK TO ROBIN DUNNE NEWS...
ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!
AWESOME SAUSAGES AND ALL THAT JAZZ...
I'M HONESTLY ABOUT TO START HYPERVENTILATING, OR SOMETHING!!! :)!
Thanks for the awesome news...
I won't be paid in time to give a donation to the kickstarter campaign, it won't let me do it :(!
Gutted!

Hehe I hope it was a good holiday though.

No worries about the Kikcstarter but you can still help by reposting it everywhere and mentioning it in any other groups you are on that might be interested.

We've added $2000 to the total since yesterday so fingers crossed.

It was a very wet holiday LOL!!
I get paid on Friday, so fingers crossed I can give something towards it, hoping the time zone is US and not UK haha as it sounds totally awesome!
And that is brilliant, Go TEAM!!

Found this on the kick starter after I made my donation so I thought I'd post it here. Looks like it's US time zone so you're all good to donate  ;D

This project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Sat, Nov 28 2015 6:00 PM PST.
