Maple syrup!

I have a really good maple syrup that I was given as a gift. You’re welcome to have it, if you truly want it 😀

Oh dear! No time to get a new passport then. Have to do it the day before.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Hey,

Do you have a rough idea when panels will start on Friday?

Thanks

I don't know about all of your questions, but I would take a cab to the hotel. Shuttle might take too long (I have to say I didn't use it though because I'm staying downtown. But from previous experience with shuttle to hotel rides, I wouldn't risk waiting).

Pretty much exactly that!  Show up, tell Candace who you are and why you're there and she will immediately put you to work! XD

Please tell me she will wear a name tag!  :P

I, along with many other people, will be angry if the main ticket is offered onsite. We had to prepay for our main ticket via Paypal. I don't like Paypal. According to the FB announcement, main ticket sales have been shut down.

Sorry, I gotta ask, why would you be angry? No one forced you to get a ticket and pay for it in advance. Personally, I don't care if the Gatecon organizers decided to sell day tickets to the convention. We are all fans, aren't we?

I saw that there are 2 crew briefings scheduled. Can I assume we only have to attend 1 of them?

I found this quite helpful when travelling abroad: http://www.moneywehave.com/the-5-best-currency-exchange-options/

And I wouldn't count on shops/restaurants accepting USD in Vancouver. If there are any (I know some fast food joints do), they are probably few and far between.

The forecast has been very unreliable as of late, so I'm sure it will change approximately 7 or 8 times until then :)

Oh, wow… those pants!  The 60's / 70's certainly weren't very good times for introverts I guess.   :-)

Definitely not! Neither is the theme of the con I guess, but I will try to blend in.

If I had known that, I wouldn't have ordered the other keychain. I like the cruise one better  :)

Wasn't sure where to post this. In the US news outlets today, it was reported that Canada had begun the process of no longer accepting Visa credit cards. It will continue to take Mastercard credit cards. I do think it goes for the debit cards also since there's a fee to use the Visa name. I can't attend Gatecon so I don't have to worry about this at this time. Many banks here in the US use the Visa brand on debit cards and credit cards. :(

The only article I read in The Wall Street Journal was that Walmart Canada will stop accepting Visa - I haven't seen anything in the news beside that.

Yes, Walmart Canada will be phasing out Visa payment option in the coming months due to high fees. Not the whole country of Canada.
