Dress to thrill...Ever fancied dressing up like everyone's favourite bad guy Apophis?
Well, now is your chance.
Thanks to Stefan Zadorozny we can offer you the chance to bid on two very special auctions to wear gold System Lord armour for the day at The Homecoming.
In addition to the main armour you will be wearing Apophis' gold scarab collar cast from the original TV mold, carrying a gold staff weapon, plus of course the gold serpent helmet also cast from the studio mold will be yours to wear. Finally very special accessory completes the outfit:
The crowning glory for the winner of the Apophis auction is that they get a whole day to play with the ‘holy grail ‘ of Stargate props – an ‘ electronic zat gun ‘
- This unit was developed at a cost of over 12,000 dollars by Stefan from a set of the original electronic shells that came from the Stargate props department
- No pic is available as the unit has not been painted yet, and Stefan will only get the zat in his hands when he arrives at Gatecon and collects her from another attendee. There is however a short video of her opening and closing available for viewing on the Stargate Propshop page.
There are two spots available to wear the gold System Lord outfit on Saturday 10th September and Sunday 11th September. The auctions will take place in the Member's Area just like the Jack's Cabin shoot but will only run for 48 hours so be sure to get your bids in early! All proceeds will be added to the Sea Shepherd fund. The waist is around 32" but stretches and the chest is 38" and upwards. Please note due to the studio quality of the costume the wearer is not allowed to enter the costume competition wearing it!
Here are Stefan's notes about this costume:
- All the clothing parts and the Armor’s and boots are screen used pieces which have been re-painted gold by me to have a system lord set-up
- The collar is the ‘ scarab beetle ‘ collar variety that was worn by Apophis on just one episode of Sg1 – its cast out of the original studio mold and the design is unique among the Goa’uld collars
- The serpent head is cast from the original studio mold and is painted gold
- It will ( if I can get some electronics done in time ) have the red light up eyes
- The staff weapon is cast out of the original mold and is one of only 3 that are being done in a system lord paint scheme
- One of the wrist gauntlets is the rare kind that had the zat holster built onto it
If you are a fan of SGU here is your chance to wear an Ancients Spacesuit for the day.
These were also worn in Atlantis episodes 10 and 11 of season 5 by the ‘Vanir Asgard’ but were painted red and had a different helmet. The suit you will be wearing is the specific one worn by Eli on the SGU set – it will also have a screen used kino controller attached to it. The waist on this outfit is also around 32" but has less give than the other costumes.
We will have two auctions running for the spacesuit to wear it all day on Friday 9th September and Sunday 11th September (though the helmet will be needed elsewhere during the Sunday autograph session). The auctions will be running in the Gatecon Member's Area for 48 hours and all proceeds are going to the Sea Shepherd fund.Please note due to the studio quality of the costume the wearer is not allowed to enter the costume competition wearing it!
The front chest plate lights up and constantly flashes to show that the suits life support is working
The helmet is built around a motorcycle helmet and the visor will fully open
- it has an inbuilt ventilation system and has LED lighting inside the visor and on the external side pods
- the ventilation system was built in after actors started collapsing on set as the original one did not have an air system
- the craftsmanship that went into building the helmet will blow people away
The kino controller is a very rare screen used one – only 4-5 of these survived – however it is static and has no functionality but there is an Archos computer inside that has all the kino controller graphics on it
The spacesuits outer shells cost the Stargate production department 20,000 dollars each and one guy worked solely for 6 months on designing the prototype that was then replicated to create the rest
[ collectively the shells cost over 100,000 dollars of the production budget for the 6 outer shell suits that were ever made ]
It'll be Ori on the night!Thanks to Stefan Zadorozny we are able to offer you the chance spend the whole day dressed as a Commander of the Ori warrior squad!
You will be wearing the Ori costume. Ori helmet and carrying the Ori pike. There are three auctions for this to wear the outfit on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th September so take your pike, I mean pick. The waist is around 32" but the pants have adjustment strings to let them out more. Please note due to the studio quality of the costume the wearer is not allowed to enter the costume competition wearing it!
- the whole outfit is screen used and is predominantly all the pieces from a ‘ commander ‘ Ori outfit as opposed to just a normal foot soldier
- The helmet is a foot soldier one
- The Ori Pike is a hero one as opposed to background piece – the difference on hero and background being the materials used and the quality of the overall piece
- The Gold prongs on the Pike are a custom made pair
