I think post deletion is an admin/mod thing. Like, you have a few minutes after posting to be able to delete, but after that, a mod has to do it.  (I *think*. Each forum software is a little different.)

Software updates have changed the ability to remove a post after a few days. Anyway, I could remove the post I made, and I was logged in.

I was wrong w/ the admin and 'few minutes' thing anyway - since I can still see the 'remove' on my post from yesterday. So hmmmmmm.....

Are you still not able to do this or was it just one post in particular?

Whoever got in and changed the ability to remove/delete a post, it's working. Not sure if the problem was caused by me being in the US. I haven't deleted anything from 2016 since I had a different username. So far, it was only one post.

I haven't made any changes so must've been a glitch at the time if it's allowing you to delete now.

Not just this forum but anyone anywhere who uses Photobucket to host their images. Photobucket have just blocked all links to millions of images unless each member pays $400 to reinstate third party hosting.

I'll be switching to imgur most likely though a lot of the images will remain broken in here apart from the most recent ones, as way too many to put in new links for, so thanks a lot Photobucket.

Hopefully no one will pay this extortionate amount and Photobucket will just go bust.

Wow.$400? I got rid of photobucket long ago since some folks noticed some of their photos being used elsewhere. I had a lot of photos there from Gatecon 2008 and sightseeing. It took forever to download to my desktop.

Yeah I have ten years' worth of images on another forum too and won't be wasting my time reinstating all of those. I doubt many people will shell out this much money so expect Photobucket have just destroyed themselves.

I had an Image Shack account years ago but had trouble uploading photos with Windows XP. Gateworld had recommended Photobucket and Image Shack to host photos to upload to the forum. I've noticed Image Shack changed and charges a subscription rate for basic, pro, and premium plans after the free trial period.

Seems to be the way they are all headed, and a reasonable fee is acceptable for the service. PB have gone way overboard in their charges though. Time to kick the Bucket.

I have webspace if you wanna host stuff there. (Though, yes, I used pb for hosting some stuff b/c the uploading was easier... but, I have webspace.)

Thanks very much for the kind offer - Allan is looking at setting me up with some space but if that doesn't work out I'll give you a shout. Thanks again  ;D
