A bit late, but: Happy New Year to all of you!

I read about the Homecoming shortly after we had returned from our very first travel to Canada last September ... and was sad because I thought it would not be possible to go back to Vancouver the very next year (it's a long and not cheap trip from Germany). But my husband agreed to go again although he will not attend the convention. We'll cruise to Alaska and then stay for a week in Van, so that I can attend the convention. Soooo happy ... and grateful to my husband!

The days before the convention we now can do what we couldn't make last year, especially a trip to Vancouver Island and maybe whale watching. Does anyone know where is the best place to start/book this trip (near the Sheraton)?

Just one more thing, if you haven't done the Alaska cruise in September: it might be warm-ish in Vancouver but bring your winter jackets, gloves and hats. It gets very cold on the ship!!!

Thank you for the advises, Heike. :)

We hope for good weather, but of course will bring winter jackets and so on for travel to Alaska. :) Concerning the whale watching tour we are thinking of the seaplane (maybe only for one way), because we did the short harbour flight last year and is was amazing (and it's worth the money).

See you in September in row O. :D
Not angry you be if Yoda grammar I use. :)

We did the seaplane to Victoria and whale-watching trip from there.
A great day out.
Pretty sure we went with Prince of Whales http://princeofwhales.com/

Hi everybody!

I'm Bra'zat (that's the pseudo I use in all forums about Stargate I'm subscribe on).
I live in France near Paris.
I discover Stargate very very late, in 2006, because I come from a family that never watch TV.
But since this time, there is not 1 day where I don't think about Stargate.

I have a "foot" in almost biggest projects in France in relation with Stargate.

Props Memorabilia (on FB): that I create in 2010. It's a group who gather original items from Stargate (artworks, props, costume, set dec), in Europe. We make exhibitions during events.

Stargate Troopers (see videos of 67conan67 on YoutTube): one of the 2 main costume group in France. Our costume are screen-accurate & we make fan-films for fun & live our hobby.

Stargate Network (on FB): one of the best (to not say THE best) fan made video game on Stargate. I have the pleasure to work with the team by giving a lot of informations & photos about real props, set dec, costumes that they reproduce for the game. I also hace contact with french voices that will makes records for the game.

The Children of McGyver (translated from french LesEnfantsDeMacGyver) (on FB): is a Franco-Swiss association that reproduce a scale 1:1 functional Gate from original segment pieces of the authentic SGC gate. I helped them to get informations, HD pictures, contacts, & now help to build it.

I met over 20 Stargate actors since 2010 during events in France (but I'm sure that our friends from USA saw more ^^  :) ).

I plan to come at the Gatecon but I need first find a host. Fact is that the plane tickets + event tickets + photoshoot sessions + meals + car rental + gas, will cost me a lot (I think quite over $1000).
So, I'm looking for someone who can home me for several days.

If somebody can help, or know someone else who can help, I would really apreciate that.

Stargatly
Bra'zat

---

Yes, Stargate is a big part of my life by:

PROPS MEMORABILIA - The biggest Stargate museum worldwide
STARGATE NETWORK - The best Stargate fangame ever made
EMG - Building a SGC Gate 1:1 scale replica from screen-used gate parts
STARGATE TROOPERS - French screen-accurate costume group

Hi everyone! I'm Jen, I'm 33 and I'm from Seattle. I didn't get into Stargate until about 6 years ago, but I've been obsessed with SG-1 ever since. I cosplay as O'Neill at every con I go to. This is my first Gatecon, but definitely not my first con! Just my first Stargate-centered one. I am so excited! I'll be driving up and staying at a hotel in Langley. Nice to meet everyone!!

Photos of my cosplay (are not great quality) can be found on tumblr at stargatecosplay

Hello I am William and I am 14 years old.
I am coming over from England for GATECON 2016 with my Dad. I am looking forward to it very much.
I really enjoy watching Stargate SG1 and Atlantis.
I have been to a Chevron event in London and have met Richard Dean Anderson and David Hewlett in London at comic cons.
I am hoping to meet them again as they were very nice to me and talked to me for a while.
I will also be wearing my Jack O` Neill Stargate uniform some of the time.
I look forward to seeing you all there.
William & Dad.

Hi, I'm Sarah, but since I don't like my first name that much most people knowing me tend to call me Az (from Azeleen, original moniker on the internet), or Sov', Sovereign (to follow current one lol)

28 years old ( :o ), belgian emigrant living in the UK, I'll be coming to Gatecon & Vancouver in general from Leeds. First time in Vancouver, to be honest, so I'm a little nervous, but I have someone picking me up and another friend with whom to spend the two weeks I'll be there (including the con), so really not so bad xD

I really really suck at introducing myself and usually prefer to answer specific questions, so ask away if you feel like it xD

Until then !  :P

edit: Sovereign is not because I am a pretentious person, no. I was just cross that day, and being a gamer I was in the middle of playing Mass Effect. And I liked the sound of the bad guy's name LOL. It stuck since xD

Hi All,
Atlantia here. I'm from Perth Western Australia. I have been to a few conventions now. As a matter of fact I leave for Sydney on Thursday. Oz Comic con. RDA, David Hewlett, Rachael Luttrell and a slew of others from Harry Potter, Lost Girl, Charmed & Game of Thrones to name a few. I am looking forward to going back to Vancouver and meeting old and new friends.
I have set up a meet and greet dinner page under the homecomming banner for those interested.
Hi Atlantia
I am also from perth , hope to see you at the convention. What other conventions have you been to?

Hi Kourts, my 1st convention was back in 2007 in Vancouver. I made friends with several people and have staayed in contact ever since. I went to Gatecon in 2008 & 2010. Then Oz Comic Con really took off. I went to Melbourne, Perth every year of course and Sydney. I am spewing because Joe Flannigan is coming to Perth this year with Rachael and I  don't think I will have the funds to go. Hawaii con was so good in 2014 that i am going there after Vancouver this year.
What about you?

Hi. I'm Jeannette and I'm flying in from Michigan. I am really looking forward to attending my first Gatecon and seeing Vancouver. It has been 25 years since I have visited Vancouver. I have to admit I am a bit apprehensive since I am coming by myself, don’t know anyone, and am probably a bit older than many attendees (although I could be wrong). In any event, I am really excited about attending and meeting people! Please humor my insecurities, but what has been the age range of Gatecon attendees?  ;)

Hello and welcome.  As far as the age range goes (without naming names) 😆 there are people who are very close to 80 and the youngest that I know of is 10, but I don't think he is going this year. Do you fit in there somewhere? 😆😆
