For the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday schedules,  what time does the convention close for the day? I'm looking mainly at Sunday evening for a possible unofficial farewell dinner away from the hotel.

Just be aware that there is usually an after con party for the volunteers. 😊

bummer.....Monday won't work either because the actors will be gone.

Some might still be around, you never know :)!

I apologize, perhaps is silly :

"Thursday 8th September
Meet & Greet party at the hotel - evening, incl Cocktail Competition judging"

I don't know what is "Meet & Greet party" (it's a meet with RDA?) I lost one chapter I think. :-[
Where is the possibility to register?

Thank you

No it's nothing that formal...the Meet and Greet is simply opening up the main ballroom early so that everyone can get together and mingle before the event kicks off the following day. It's open to everybody so no need to register for this one.

The Homecoming has activities stretching across 5 days so please bear that in mind when organising your trip. The activities on the first and fifth days are optional ones, so if you can only make the main part of the weekend you will still have plenty to see and do.

The event itinerary will be released once our full guest line-up has been finalised and their individual appearance times are known, but these are the extra activities planned for your enjoyment so far. Check out the dedicated thread for each :

  • Glyph Hunt
  • Convention Cocktail Competition
  • Art Competition
  • Absolutely Everybody Convention Video
  • Writing Competition
  • Stargate Costume Competition
  • Vangroovy Costume Competition
  • Vangroovy Harbour Cruise
  • The Homecoming Vangroovy Welcome Party
  • The Vangroovy Banquet
  • The Sea Shepherd Charity Auction
  • The Vangroovy Cabaret
  • The Vancouver Filming Location Tour

PC - any activity marked PC means that it takes place Pre-Convention
OE - any activity marked OE is an Optional Extra and involves the purchase of a ticket add-on
FE - any activity marked FE means Free Entry and is included in your main convention ticket

Here is a very basic overview of the itinerary, just to give you the basics for planning your trip. There will obviously be much more detail added to this as time goes on.

Thursday 8th September
Main Registration all day
Harbour Cruise - over the lunchtime period (extra ticket purchase required)
Meet & Greet party at the hotel - evening, incl Cocktail Competition judging

Friday 9th September
A.M. Panels on stage
P.M. Photo Session 1
Evening - Banquet with after dinner entertainment - Gary Jones and Colin Cunningham (extra ticket purchase required)

Saturday 10th September
A.M. Photo Session 2
P.M. Panels on stage
Evening - Charity Auction in aid of Sea Shepherd

Sunday 11th September
A.M. Panels on stage
incl Closing Ceremony before lunch break
P.M. Autographs
Evening - Celebrity Cabaret

Monday 12th September
All Day City Filming Location Tour (extra ticket purchase required)

Note: we are currently looking at various options for the final itinerary. Once we have all our cans in a row we will publish something a bit more exciting for you than the outline above.

The event itinerary looks great...celebrity cabaret sounds interesting! Will there be a gap between the day and evening activities each day (for dinner / changing into evening clothes...or in my case also to dash home to feed animals as well as get changed and come back haha)

I'm waiting to see if the artist who is doing Robin Dunne's Rattletrap has time to do the cover. If not I'll reintroduce the competition.

So far, there's been no word of a video competition.  There were some legal questions that had to be answered and there's also the time consideration.  There's already a lot on the table for the weekend, so they may not be able to squeeze in another contest.

But - things can change.

I am not one of the con organizers, just a long time visitor. =)  (also, i'm around at times when Richard is asleep *g*)

It's okay, no problem at all, I was just wondering if I should get started or not. And you're right there are already a lot of activities planned, we sure won't get bored!!!

The tour is actually full so we are running a waiting list now. If we get enough people to add on another bus we will do.
