Room Rates

We have secured a limited number of rooms at a special convention rate. Once these rooms have been filled you will be offered the regular rooms in the hotel, subject to availability, although if you mention that you are attending Gatecon the reservation staff will see what they can do for you.

Basically, book early!

Attendees must make reservations for the event directly with the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel on 1-800-663-0299. To ensure you receive the special convention rate (whilst room block lasts) you must identify yourself as attending Gatecon when you make your booking.

In the event of you needing to cancel your reservation you must contact the Hotel no later than 6pm Vancouver time,the day prior to the arrival date, otherwise a cancellation fee of one nights' room and tax will be charged.

• The cut-off date for reserving rooms in the Gatecon Room Block is 5pm local time at Hotel on 5th July 2016. After the cut-off date it is at the Hotel's discretion whether to accept additional reservations, which will be subject to prevailing rates and availability.
• A cot (maximum of one cot per room) can be supplied in a Traditional King room if required, and based upon availability

VANCOUVER AIRPORT SHUTTLE
Shuttle buses pick up directly across from the international arrivals terminal. Watch out for the shuttle with the Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton Airport logos on it.

Designed for business and leisure travelers on the go, our complimentary Vancouver Airport shuttle runs 24-hours a day and leaves the hotel every 30 minutes and arrives at the airport approx quarter to and quarter past the hour. Our concierge is happy to help coordinate your flights and transfers.

Vancouver Airport Shuttle to and from the Hotel
We provide regular shuttle service from to the main terminal at Vancouver International Airport starting at 5:00am with the last shuttle leaving the hotel at midnight.  For Vancouver airport shuttle service between midnight and 5:00am, our front desk is happy to set-up your departure time. International and Domestic pick-up areas on the arrivals level of the airport are marked as hotel shuttle pick up areas.

If you need the shuttle service from the airport between 1am - 5am call the hotel from the display board in baggage claim areas of the airport or call us directly at 800-663-0299 or 604-273-7878 and request a pick up. Please wait for your shuttle at the designated area. If travelling to the airport between these hours contact the concierge.

South Terminal and FBOs
If you need a transfer to the South Terminal, simply tell the driver. If you want to be picked up from the South Terminal or Fixed Based Operators, please call the hotel. Service from the FBOs to the hotel are by request only.

Thanks Sharon, where did that pesky Monday creep in.
They are offering the rate three days either side of the dates we have the space booked for, so yes til the 15th (Thursday)

I just tried to make my reservation for Sept. 8 - 13, and, although they had a selection for Gatecon in their computer, they were unable to reserve a room.  The computer said "gate block not found" whatever that means.  I went ahead and reserved a room at the regular hotel rate ($279) and they said to call back after the con organizers have straightened it out, and they'll switch it to the Gatecon rate.

I tried to reserve a room by using the block code that Paul Brown mentioned, but it said "code not valid". I'm a Starwood member, so I'll try to reserve online.

I went to the this Sheraton hotel website, but all I could find in USD was $210USD per night for 9/8-9/12 when using a cc. All other amounts listed were prepaid or nonrefundable @$171USD per night, but I'd rather not do the $210 pernight compared to $150 Gatecon rate.

When you called did they say it was non-fundable and charged immediately, or were you given a cancellation date just before checkin?

They said I could cancel with no charge up until 4:00 pm the day before check-in.  They'll probably get the bugs worked out soon.

Paul has heard back from the hotel and the error is at their end as they confirm the contract has been signed and received, and apologise for not being able to complete reservations today.

Our event manager at the hotel assures us this will be fixed tomorrow. Apologies on their behalf for the difficulties.

The problem has been rectified.  I just got an email confirmation with the Gatecon rate of $199/night.  Thanks for your help, Richard.
