Volunteering sounds awesome..
But I am way too chicken... Lol!
I am sure the guys who volunteer will do a fab job and I can't wait to get to know you all   :) :)

Don't be!  Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, since you'll be working with them for a couple hours at least.

And you won't be left to your own devices!  The volunteer coordinator will make sure everyone knows what they need to know.  Plus - you get a cool shirt! =)

Hmmm...
I'm trying to convince myself lol..
I think I might offer my services for registration and see what happens..
I'm going to be arriving in Vancouver earlyish to meet some friend who stay there so I can totally do it...
And the shirt is totally the selling point  ;D ;D

Registration is very good for meeting people - sometimes you even recognize names.  I met several folks that way - both working registration and going through the line. =)

I love love volunteering at conventions, especially if it's a new convention to me cause then I get to meet more people. I always feel like I get more out of going to a con and volunteering than if I'm just attending. Volunteering I think you get to connect right from the get go and you have that core group that sticks with you throughout time!

I got an email with my ticket confirmation (YAAHHH!!!!!) and it said "please complete the Volunteer Form at the Gatecon site" if you're interested in volunteering.  Am I going blind??  I want to volunteer - sounds like fun.

Thanks.

(If someone points it out and it's right in front of me, I'll feel really stupid.  ;D

Yeah -the volunteer form isn't up yet.  Don't worry if you don't fill it out as soon as it goes up... the volunteer schedule won't be finalized until... well... after the con's over. =)  B/c we make changes as we go, as that's how we roll!  *waves to Candace*

You got it!!!!! 👍🏼 I always end up feeling at home when I help during registration. I used to help run registration for a Con with 40,000+ attendees, this past weekend I helped run registration for another Con with 4,000+ attendees.

Looking forward to the volunteer form being posted. I'd like to volunteer. I've worked all kinds of jobs at other conventions.
