Make a Wish charity banquet
« on: September 25, 2019, 11:46:12 AM »
This will take place on the Saturday evening, with the charity auction straight away after the meal.

Make a Wish Charity Banquet
If not already included in your ticket tier the banquet must be purchased separately. A percentage of all banquet ticket sales will be donated to our chosen charity.

US $95 inclusive of tax and gratuities
Despite our overall costs going up we have decided to keep the banquet tickets at the 2016 prices

The banquet will follow our main format of a choice of main courses with set starters and desserts, plus, of course, tea or coffee. We anticipate a choice between beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian. The menu will be published as soon as it has been finalised.

Please make sure you indicate special dietary needs (i.e. gluten free, diabetic) and pertinent allergies. The hotel Chef will prepare a suitable offering based on the other selections. The hotel is unable to cater for individual dislikes so kindly restrict yourselves to specific diets, allergies and intolerances. A vegan option will be available.

It should be noted that the charity auction will follow directly after the banquet. While all are welcome to come along after the meal should they not have a banquet ticket seating will be very limited.

BANQUET MENU

Assorted rolls & butter

Mixed green salad – selection of baby lettuce, grape tomatoes, sundried cranberries, apple chips, served with pear vinaigrette

Pre-selected choice of one:
Oven baked wild salmon with laksa sauce, accompanied by rice & market vegetables
Grilled New York steak with red wine sauce, mashed potato & market vegetable
Chicken breast stuffed with spinach & goat cheese in a pesto cream sauce, mashed potatoes & market vegetables
Gnocchi, with sundried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, spinach, parmesan cheese, fresh basil

Lemon mousse cake, fruit coulis, seasonal berries

Coffee, decaffeinated coffee & tea

Gluten Free: The chicken & steak options are gluten free

Fryn,
I know Allan is busy with ticket sales at the present, but do you have an idea of when these tickets will go on sale? A couple of weeks, a couple of months, exact date not required yet. 😁

Yes. Definitely wear clothes! 😁

Seriously, most people were pretty casual. 🙂

Does the banquet usually sell out? I'm just looking at spacing out my purchases for Gatecon. (Heaven knows when photo ops become available, I'll be spending a lot.)

I believe it usually sells out, some photo ops do have the ability to prepay, but you can just pay for them at the con if you don't want to but it all at once, which I totally understand!

Photo Op prepaid will not be available until very close to convention time, when the guest list is pretty well firm.  The only other prepay I think would be the Location Tour that will be the day after the convention ends (Monday)
