Thanks for the feedback. I received an email to say that the Mad Greek Restaurant may not be operating after June 2016 as their lease is up.  I will still keep them in mind just in case.

Meanwhile, I would like an idea of what price range is most popular.  I have added a few selections to the 1st post. They are;
$20-$30
$30-$40
$40-$50

Let me know, or I will guess and may go higher or lower than you would like! 😆

I vote $20-30 range! My first Gatecon was 2008 and I had a blast meeting soooo many Gateworld folks and Shippers, too (you know who you are!!!) . I'm looking at this get-together (this will be my second Gatecon) as both a reunion as well as a chance to meet more Stargate fans!!! Squeeeeee !!!

I would say $30-$40 would be enough!!! And if it is less expensive then that is a bonus !

I have located another restaurant on the river called Pier 73. (Pier73.com) Price range looks good. Excellent views. We do have an option of booking a private room which will hold all of us, but it will cost a minimum of $33 per person not including drinks.

NB: I am not sure how the taxes work. If anyone knows if this will increase the price, do let me know.

I think a private room, if it's large enough to contain us, would make it easier for us to mingle with each other.  And it would prevent us from being an annoyance to the other diners who have no interest in our nonsense.

Pier 73 looks great! I like the idea of a private room, too. Thanks for taking the lead in organizing this event.

Pier 37 sounds really nice and I too like the idea of a private room. The $33 minimum per head you said Atlantia might not have the gratuity included which restaurants add on for groups depending on the number of people usually. There will be 5%GST on top of that for food and 10% tax on alcohol as well.

On looking at the location of the restaurant from the hotel it would probably mean having to get a cab to get there and back; estimated cost each way for cab fare is $14.00, up to $23 if the traffic is bad, but if it's split 4 ways it's not so bad. I have no idea about the availability of public transit to get there from the hotel since I'm not that familiar with Richmond, only driven through bits of it to get to Steveston or the airport from where I live.

Well, if the Pier73 will be the place, I probably won't make it in time even for the dessert ! I know now the arrival time of my flight and I won't make it to the hotel before 9pm ! So, if you don't find any restaurant nearer to the hotel you have to delete me from the list.  :-(

I'll continue to look around for a possible place, we like to wander around at weekends and go out for meals so maybe we'll go and check out some places in Richmond nearer to the hotel or close to a skytrain station over the next few months. It's a shame the con is just too far from where I live. I can already think of two places that would accommodate a large group, one of which is on the street just round the corner from my place used as a filming location in SG-1 and SGU!

I am sorry to hear that. I am still looking, but if you don't make it to the dinner, I am sure that there will a few of us that will catch up with you for drinks afterward at the hotel.
