Hi y'all I'm Grant, Mag's son, so I am going for sure this year I just don't know if it will be something I will always be able to do. So the question I pose to you seasoned Gate-goers volunteers and not, IF this was going to be the only time I could come to gate con what would be the optimal experience I could do, volunteer or not? I have no issue working during my experience just honestly want the best, funnest, experience that y'all would recommend?

Thanks for the impute and HELLO!

Hi Grant. Personally I would like to employ you to keep your mom in line

Sold!

I smell a bidding war about to happen! =)

I think volunteering is great. You don't have to volunteer your whole weekend away. Don't tell them I said so, but they have a pretty cool set up. Do a little or do alot, just don't miss out on the things you are interested in.
BTW Welcome....Wwwhhhooooohahahaha 😊

It's true - you can volunteer in an area that just has 4-hour shifts (way shorter than it sounds), or somewhere where you're working the whole con.

Being a 'room roamer' would put you in the main auditorium making sure people don't use flash after the 5-min window or video tape things.  Being a minion for Robbin means corralling people for photos and autographs.  There really are endless possibilities. =)

Hey fellow gaters!

My name is Lisa and I've been to Stargate Chicago with Creation this year and many cons previous! SO excited that this is my first *Official* Gatecon as I was too young (and short of sneaking out and disappearing for a week) couldn't go.

Super excited to meet new Stargate friends! :)

Hello everyone.  My name is Barbara and I'll be coming from South Carolina for this (assuming I get a ticket).  I hate to admit this but, as of a month ago, I'd never seen Stargate.  :-[  (In my defense, I don't watch television so I've never seen most shows.)  Anyway, my son got me into Stargate - I'm in Season 3 - and am really enjoying it.  A great show (I'm sure I'll get no argument about that.)

Welcome! No arguments here, except of course, which one of the 3 series is the better! 😆

Hi all, I'm Andrew from Colorado! I've never been to a Stargate convention, so this will be my first one, even though I've been a fan of Stargate since SG-1 first aired (greatest show of my childhood). I'm finishing up my first full re-watch of every Stargate episode in correct chronological order (SG-1, Atlantis, Universe) and am very excited that I was able to get a ticket to the Con! Looking forward to meeting you all there!!

You think the pink and the red will clash too badly?   If it does, I'll just get RDA to draw something on it in black marker to hide some of the pink.  Think he'd go for it? XD

It'll depend on which shade of red you chose this year. :D  As for RDA, maybe.

If I end up in pink, I'm putting you in charge of convincing him to un-pink my shirt so I don't clash! XD

Long overdue, it seems.

I'm from the Vancouver area and this will be my first Gatecon. I was completely unaware of Stargate-related conventions until 2010, when I went to my first convention, a Creation Star Trek con in Vancouver headlined by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. While waiting in one of the autograph lines, one of the girls in line with me mentioned the Stargate con and in April the following year just after the cancellation of SGU, I attended my first Creation Stargate con. It was also after that Star Trek con that I learned about the Meet The Man convention the following month but, as I had exhausted my funds, I was unable to get a ticket.

I've only ever been to one con outside of Vancouver, that being last year's Creation Stargate con in Chicago. I generally dislike air travel, so I really do prefer cons which are close to home. The only trade-off with the convenience of being able to commute is I tend to have to sacrifice evening events in order to get home before the buses stop running for the night.

I'm looking forward to the return of Gatecon and finally being able to see THE Richard Dean Anderson. It's the best of both worlds.

Hello, I'm Jamie, coming from UT along with my hubby and sister! Hubby and I are frequent con-goers, but this will be our first Stargate Con. Considering he proposed to me the first time he saw my Stargate collection, I think it's safe to say Stargate is a bit of a big deal in our home and we're really excited for Gatecon!!
