Why would you do that? The proper way to do it is to take Canadian money and convert IT to another currency. You get more out of it that way.

If she lives in not!Canada, she already has money that isn't CAD currency.  Converting it to CAD makes it easier to spend at the convention.  Gatecon guests typically accept payment in either CAD or US currency.  Having cash on hand makes the lines faster.

I may also convert some US $$$ to CAD to bring with me for autographs or photo ops. It saves from standing in line at a Canadian bank. Don't know how the new bankcard with the chip will work outside the US.

I live in the UK... I changed my money now because the exchange rate is just awesome right now, you never know what it is going to be like later on in the year! I just practically doubled my money! Just sayin'

I'm going to get some Canadian currency from my bank before I head over to Van.  I could always use it at other places around the city like taxies, trains etc.

Having Canadian money is just way easier, I went to every Gatecon and traveled to Vancouver alot because I used to live very close, it is always worth it to use Canadian, trust me on this. Kim

Richard, what if I only want one personal item autographed, my Stargate T-shirt, can I just pay for that? I won't be getting everyone like I used to do, I've got so many autographs with most of them I don't know what to do with them all. Plus I won't have much money to spend so I'm really limited on how much I can get. I really don't need a bunch of headshots autographed, I only need my t-shirt for all of the Stargate guests. If there are non-stargate guests then I may buy headshots for just them. It really sucks being broke but it is unfortunately a reality for many of us. Thanks, Kim

Yes indeed you can. The guests are giving us prices for sgning an official item for which you can also get a personal item signed for free, or the personal item signed at a set price on its own.

That's great to know Richard.  Like Kim I have a bunch of signed headshots and really don't need any more.  There are several guests that I need to sign my Stargate book that I probably wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

Just wondering if we're any closer to having prices for the autographs. Richard posted "hopefully early in the new year" last year, so that's why I'm asking. From the posts talking about previous Gatecons, the prices seem to be very cheap compared to what I'm used to at Emerald City Comicon. When I met RDA a couple years ago it cost me $95 for a headshot and autograph. So I'm happy at the idea that they're much cheaper at Gatecon.

We have started getting prices back in so will add them to the info pages....loathe to use the word "soon" again, but yes they will be posted when finalised. The first list may not encompass all the gusts but at least it will give you something to go on.

I have about 12 autographs I'd like to get.   I think I'm going to need to get a bigger purse/wallet.  ::)

Me again, so basically, i need to bring Canadian Dollars with me for the autographs,  but I will definitely get one wont |I, from the guests?

After LFCC which i attended, was a disaster trying to Q and the ticketing systems was just awful.  Poor RDA worked late to make sure everyone got their autograph because of this.

I hope it wont be as stressful.

Thanks

P.S.  is this the same procedure for photos too.

Thanks
