Just think yourself lucky I never got to do my 24 convention idea - running a con for 24 hours straight 😣

The following takes place between 3am and 4am.....

Ha! I was up at 4am buying tickets and it took me half an hour to pay for them! 😂

Yup I thought we'd try something different this time - more guests than attendees, with the attendees sitting behind tables and the guests line up to sign things.

What a Concept!  I'm game.  Just as long as I don't have to do any panels.

You haven't heard? The guests are gonna sit in the audience and ask YOU questions! =)

Thanks and welcome to the group. We did have a great time last year and it was a good way to kick off the weekend and meet newbies. The guest line-up looks excellent once again and I can't wait to catch up with friends and make new friends too!  *biting my tongue trying not to squee to early*

Ok. Judging by the amount of views for this page I will get the ball rolling for the Pre Con Get Together.

This is just a dinner for anyone who wants to attend, to say hi and meet some people before Gatecon officially kicks off. So if you want to come, just let me know and i will add you to the list.

So Hello ALL!

Names Nikki, I'm 27 and have loved Stargate for as long as I knew it was around.... I live in Florida in the USA and it is hot, hot, hot....

This will be my first convention ever and my first Stargate event I go to, *Gasp* I know that rock I lived under finally got picked up and moved lol... I love to draw, write, and enjoy traveling....

Ummm lets see I am a HUGE Amanda Tapping fan and cannot wait to see her I like Mortal Kombat and The Sims games, I do awesome Halloween costumes/makeup on myself every year, and I am super excited to visit Canada for the first time!

Also I got the Golden Ticket ;P, Also my Girlfriend and her son will be with me to see Vancouver but will be passing on the convention itself so looking to meet new friends and have a good time as well!

Message me with any cool tips, pointers, or info you think I might like... Look out for this rookie y'all!

Welcome to the group. I am coming from Australia and later on I will be organising a dinner for all that want to come and say hi. This is not an official Gatecon dinner, just some of us getting together to meet each other. You will be welcome to join. 😄

where were you thinking of going? and when I'm probably heading to Van at Easter, I can look into places if needs be.

 Hey, you can tuck your "uh oh" away!  😛  We just went to Harrolds last time. It's in the Hotel itself. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday night. There were a few people that had mobility issues and this place was very good. They put us down the back and sectioned the area off from the main restaurant.

We ended up with 35-40 people attending last time. It is fairly quiet, but people ordered what they could afford and paid on the way out. I was pleased with how everyone had that common thread and the conversations just started rolling. 😃

I am also thinking of going to Pier 73. I have been told it is a little more pricey but it is down by the river. Lunch would be good there. 😄

I contacted a few of the nearby hotels and have been informed by two of them, that rooms for September 2018 have not been released yet. I imagine this to be the case with others as well. The Airport Plaza releases their rooms for booking 11 months ahead of time, which means October. I stayed there in 2016 and can recommend it. (It's a little pricy, so get a group together) 😄

Just wanted to put it out there, that all the guests are "Major players" in my book and every time you categorize them, you are insulting actors in supporting roles that by any standard are just as good as the actors cast in the lead roles. They all make the series what it was and still is today! Yes! This fan would like to see some more of the Atlantis crew, but it is understandable that not all could be invited. Maybe they will be next time! I like the diversity of guests that Gatecon brings, and the closeness of the Gatecon family.

To put it short and sweet - I like Gatecon just the way you are! 😄
